How does WallsPainter work?
WallsPainter lets you compare digital wall-colour previews in a sample room, generate reusable daylight and evening previews for supported colours, then apply a selected colour to your own room photo.
Why does WallsPainter show both daylight and evening previews?
A wall colour can shift noticeably between natural daylight and lamplight. Showing both views reduces false confidence from a single lighting condition.
What are generated default-room previews?
When a selected colour does not already have ready sample-room images, WallsPainter can prepare a reusable default-room pair for that canonical HEX: one daylight wall preview and one evening-light wall preview.
How do own-room comparison sets work?
After a successful own-room generation, WallsPainter lets you compare Original and generated colour versions across two stacked rows: Daylight first and Evening light second. The same uploaded room result stays session-scoped and is not published as a public discovery page.
Are the previews exact paint matches?
No. WallsPainter is a visual planning tool. Generated previews and brand colour matches are approximate, and real paint results still vary with room orientation, sheen, surface texture, camera exposure, and monitor calibration.
Can I start from a paint brand colour?
Yes. WallsPainter supports selected-brand approximation from a colour name and closest-brand matching from a preview HEX for Farrow & Ball and Little Greene, while still warning that digital matches are approximate.
What room photo works best?
Use one clear photo with visible wall area, neutral exposure, and as little glare, blur, or heavy filtering as possible.
